The results of the 2018 inpatient survey were launched on Monday, 26 November.
The National Patient Experience Survey, a joint initiative by HIQA, as the lead partner; the Health Service Executive (HSE); and the Department of Health, ran for the second time in May this year. The survey asked patients about their experiences of hospital care to find out what is working well in our health service, and what needs to be improved.
Feedback was received from 13,404 people, with the majority of patients (84%) saying that they had a good or a very good overall experience in hospital in May 2018.
The 2018 National Patient Experience Survey report, along with 39 individual reports for all participating hospitals, can be found on www.patientexperience.ie. Find out more about the results of the survey by watching our short animation.
Furthermore, you can take part in our short consultation on the planning and delivery of the 2018 survey. Your answers will help us to see what worked well and where we can make improvements for 2019. The survey is open until 14 December 2018.
