Patient Safety Monitoring: Healthcare Quality and Safety in Europe Conference 

On 22 November, Sean Egan, HIQA’s Head of Healthcare, chaired the first session of the Patient Safety Monitoring: Healthcare Quality and Safety in Europe Conference, an international conference on patient safety attended by agencies similar to HIQA from around the world. The meeting was hosted by AGE.NA.S, an Italian organisation, and drew together most of the state agencies engaged in promoting patient safety across the EU. This meeting aimed to share common experiences and promote collective learning, with the intention of fostering ongoing collaboration across agencies where appropriate.
