2024 marks HIQA’s 15th anniversary of the regulation of nursing homes and we are planning to hold a national event for nursing home providers on 17 October. The event will look back over the last 15 years of regulation of nursing homes, the changes which have occurred and the plans for the future.
During the first four months of the year we have continued to engage with a range of stakeholders nationally. This engagement provides a valuable opportunity to share key learnings and discuss issues of concern relevant to nursing homes. During these meetings, attendees took the opportunity to reflect on 2023 and discussed key issues affecting the nursing home sector.
We have met with the Office of the Ombudsman, SAGE Advocacy, Céile Care, Nursing Homes Ireland and the Patient Advocacy Service. In addition to this, our staff has also attended a number of conferences and seminars, exchanging ideas and learnings. These conference have included:
