Online learning courses completed over 300,000 times

Our online learning courses have been completed over 300,000 times since launching.

We develop national standards for health and social care services and, to make sure that people using these services receive the best possible care, we also create support materials, such as online learning courses.

These courses were designed to support staff working in health and social care services to understand and implement national standards in their day-to-day work.

They include:

    • infection prevention and control
    • adult safeguarding
    • applying a human rights-based approach in health and social care
    • the fundamentals of advocacy and
    • information management – data quality.

Speaking about the milestone achievement, our Deputy Director of national standards for health and social care Niamh O’Rourke, said, “We are delighted that our courses have been completed so many times, with very positive feedback. HIQA is committed to promoting best practice in human rights and in advocacy within health and social care services.

“A vital part of upholding national standards is education and supporting staff, this way they can provide the best care possible.”

The courses are available online on our Leaning Hub here.
